Cryolipolysis is an innovative technique that targets subcutaneous fat tissue, promoting fat layer reduction and body contouring. It is the most powerful non-surgical procedure for fat reduction.
The effect is based on controlled, non-invasive local cooling of fat tissue. Prolonged cooling of fat cells (for about one hour) causes their destruction, while cold exposure does not damage the surrounding tissues. This is due to the selective sensitivity of adipocytes (fat cells) to cold, known as the paradox of white adipose tissue. The fat cells die naturally through the process of apoptosis. This type of cell death is considered safe for the body since it does not trigger a significant inflammatory response or release of fat breakdown products into the lymphatic and circulatory systems.
Cryolipolysis is considered a non-surgical alternative to liposuction. The procedure allows for the reduction of the fat fold volume, which is measured beforehand using a special instrument, by up to 40%.
To ensure effective cooling of subcutaneous fat without causing frostbite on the skin surface, specialized vacuum applicators are used in the devices. During the procedure, the vacuum draws the fat fold into the inner chamber of the applicator and holds it in place.
