For about eight years Mariya was ill, and more than 60 doctors in five countries told her that her tests were normal. In 2017 a specialist laboratory found chronic Lyme disease with a co-infection. Standard treatment didn’t work for the chronic form, so together with Professor Yuri she researched, traveled to clinics and health retreats, and carefully tried protocols until she recovered. In 2020 she turned the family home on the ocean into Santa Maria.
As the creator of the Santa Maria Method, Mariya designs Santa Maria’s programs around its principle: first the cause, then the system, then the result. She specializes in nutrition and longevity, and she took part in the ILADS Lyme conferences in Chicago (2018) and Boston (2019).

Professor Yuri is a scientist: a molecular biologist, geneticist and systems biologist, with more than 100 scientific publications and twenty years of experience in research and biotechnology in the United States. He was the first to look at Mariya’s illness as a system: he isolated her DNA for sequencing and led her to the laboratory that found the diagnosis.
At Santa Maria he leads the science behind the programs and the live blood microscopy. When he’s at the clinic, he holds the Monday consultations at the microscope and the Saturday reviews, and he gives free video consultations to people thinking about coming.

Evgenia is a general practitioner and endocrinologist with 11 years of experience in endocrinology: metabolism and weight, blood sugar and diabetes, the thyroid, hormonal balance and menopause, osteoporosis, and the pituitary and adrenal glands. She works with evidence-based medicine and, like everyone at Santa Maria, looks for the cause, not just the symptom.
She has trained in the Santa Maria Method and in live blood microscopy with our founders, and works alongside our licensed Mexican physician and Professor Yuri: she reviews your labs and hormones, takes part in your consultations and follows how you respond during the week.
The team behind your week
