When your body feels stuck
Many of our patients come to Santa Maria after living with symptoms for 5, 10 or even 15 years. They have seen many doctors, in the US, Mexico and elsewhere. They have tried medications, supplements, diets, IVs, physical therapy, sometimes surgery. Some have a diagnosis. Others were told their labs are “normal”, but they still don’t feel well.
We know this road personally. Our founder Mariya lived for eight years with a complex chronic condition. She saw more than 60 doctors in five countries, and her labs were “normal”. The cause was finally found: chronic Lyme disease with a co-infection. She recovered only when she connected what medicine usually treats separately: infections, immunity, metabolism, the gut, nutrition, the nervous system and emotional health. In 2020 that experience became Santa Maria.

The method at a glance
First the cause.

Why the body gets stuck: the overload
Every day we take in things our grandparents never encountered: heavy metals, pesticides, microplastics and chemicals in food, water, air and cosmetics. On top of that there are hidden pathogens: parasites, fungi such as Candida, and viruses and bacteria that can stay in the body for years.
A healthy body cleans itself through the liver, gallbladder, kidneys, lymph, gut and skin. But when more comes in than the body can remove, it starts to store the excess in the liver, the gallbladder, fat tissue and the cells. Year after year the load grows, and the body pays for it with inflammation, fatigue and a weaker immune system. Add stress, poor sleep and years of worry about your health, and the body gets stuck.
Many chronic conditions begin exactly here: the body has been overloaded for so long that it has adapted to living with the overload.
Think of a frozen computer. Hundreds of processes run at once, the memory is full, and programs conflict. Opening one more program doesn’t fix it. The whole system needs a cleanup and a restart.
Four kinds of inflammation
Inflammation sits behind most chronic problems, but it isn’t one thing. We look for four kinds:
A treatment that helps one kind can be useless for another. That’s why you need a program built around your cause, not a menu of procedures.

We look first, then act
Before we treat, we build one clear picture of you, from five angles:
When your history points to it, we add tests through our partner laboratory (at extra cost): Lyme disease and co-infections, parasites, Candida, viruses and immune function. When you need more, an MRI, X-ray or specialist is arranged nearby in Tijuana, and your doctor brings everything together.
Tests should answer questions, not create more paperwork. Not everyone needs every test.
Then the system.
Six approaches in one program
Many clinics offer one of these. The cause usually sits between them, so we combine all six:
Separately, each one helps a little. Together, they work far better than any one of them alone.
Procedures are tools. The program is the product.
You can get an IV in one place, a massage in another, a sauna at the gym and a diet from an app. But they come at different times, from different people, with no plan connecting them. That isn’t enough to cleanse and restart an overloaded body.
A typical health resort gives 4 or 5 treatments a day. Our Longevity programs give 7 to 8, and All-Inclusive 8 to 12. More is not automatically better. The point is to combine treatments that support each other, while your doctor watches how you respond.

The order matters as much as the treatments
It matters what we do, and just as much when, and in what combination.
First we open the body’s exits, then we clean and treat. If toxins are stirred up before the liver and lymph can remove them, people feel worse. In the wrong order, patients often feel worse around day 4. In the right order, many patients tell us they start to feel different around day 5. This sequence took us years of work with real patients to build, and it’s the part that can’t be copied from a list of procedures.
The seven parts of the Cleanse & Reset
At Santa Maria the whole day is part of the treatment, not just 45 minutes in a doctor’s office.
And your medical team, led by our physician, putting it all together and adjusting the plan as your body responds.

Your stay: first the foundation, then your focus
Because every overloaded body first needs the same foundation: open the exits, cleanse, restore circulation, improve food and sleep, and calm inflammation. After that, the program becomes more targeted.
How long? One week is a good start. For a long-standing condition we recommend 10 days to 3 weeks on your first visit.
Then the result.

You see the change, not just hear about it
A result shouldn’t be only the doctor’s words. In our Detox, Longevity and All-Inclusive programs, on your first and last day, we look at your blood under the microscope together, on a screen. You see the difference with your own eyes.
After you go home: your 90-day home protocol
The stay creates momentum. Your everyday life decides whether it continues. On your last day, your doctor gives you written recommendations and a personal home protocol for about three months:
We stay in touch. On All-Inclusive and the Stem Cell Program our doctor calls you at 30, 60 and 90 days (about 20 minutes each); on the Women’s, Men’s and 60+ programs, at 30 days. We see how you are doing and help you keep to your protocol.

Your first year, and every year after
We want to replace “I’m going to Mexico for a miracle week” with “I’m starting a structured year of recovery.”
Year 1 · Recovery: an intensive stay (10 days to 3 weeks) → 90 days at home with your plan → check your labs and how you feel → a second stay about 6 months later.
Year 2 and after · Maintenance: measure, cleanse, restore, plan the next year. One week, once or twice a year.
If you have a chronic condition: two stays in the first year, then usually once a year.
If you feel healthy: a yearly visit for a check-up, cleanse and reset. We service our cars every year. The body needs maintenance too.
Returning patients get 10% off every program.
What we don’t do
What we do promise is a clear, structured process: what we can measure, what we can cleanse, what we can restore, what needs more investigation, and what you can realistically continue at home.
Our five promises
Is Santa Maria a clinic or a spa? A clinic: an integrative longevity clinic where medicine, bodywork and nutrition come together in one program, and the starting point is the cause. It is not a hospital: we don’t do surgery or emergency care.
